- New ICO guidance on anonymisation and pseudonymisation — UK ICO Guidance on Anonymization Published On March 28, 2025, the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) released updated guidance on anonymization. According to the ICO the guidance: (1) explains what they mean by anonymisation and pseudonymization; (2) details how this affects data protection obligations and responsibilities; (3) discusses considerations when anonymising personal data; (4) provides good practice advice anonymising personal data; and (5) discusses technical and organisational measures to mitigate risks.
